This is gonna be a quite one today, nonetheless, an important concept. Sometimes the best pictures are captured when no one thinks they are getting their picture taken. I’ve included 2 images below that were taken on a whim. The one of the mother and her son was taken during a recent shoot. We were all just walking back to another location in the park but I was behind them and I hardly ever miss an opportunity to capture more pictures. There’s just something about this picture I love. Even though there are no faces in the photo, it is still a very powerful image. You can feel emotion between them. The other one is Max. I just love this little boy. This was shot between set ups of each of the children that day. I just love his expression here. Genuine!
So next time your out with your camera, try to be stealthy and sneek a few pics when they aren’t lookin’! Have fun! We have been going to Port Farms in Waterford, PA since Ella was just a baby! We love this place! Every year there is more and more fun stuff for the kids to do. They have speed slides, mazes, a pumpkin launch, pumpkin bowling and much more. We happened to be there for the artisan weekend. They had a wood carver there and pumpkins carvers. If you haven’t stopped in yet this fall then get a move on it! This is my first ever Fix-it Friday. This is where we take an image that needs some TLC and fix-it! Pretty simple. We would love to help you if you have a picture that you love but needs just a little kick. Send it on over and if it gets chosen for our Fix-It Friday, you’ll see it here. Today’s image is from a dear friend of mine. It was a taken in the shade and the little girl was sorta blocking the light so the original image is lacking contrast and pop! And that’s just what we gave it. Just had to tweak the contrast and brighten up the eyes and teeth. A little darkening here and there. Then we sharpened it a little bit. And Viola! Send us your photos that you want fix and see it here for next weeks Fix-it Friday! Today is Thoughtful Thursday and I decided to talk a little bit about a simple concept that we as humans should spend more time doing…..Paying It Forward! Today, Amanda Hrabak, Owner and President of New Direction Photography in Chagrin Falls, OH, welcomed me with open arms into her studio for some much needed guidance. She was more than willing to answer all of my questions and shared information that others charge big bucks for. She didn’t have to do this and ask for nothing in return. She just acted in kindness. We talked about everything including lighting, equipment, vendors, products, and marketing. I gained a great deal of knowledge from just one afternoon. And believe me, I will someday do the same in return for another. Just imagine how we could change things if we acted in kindness to pay it forward just once a month. What if it was once a week? Imagine…. Try it tomorrow and see how it feels. To help one another, unselfishly.
Today’s camera’s simply take amazing quality pictures. But there are a few things you can do to improve you pictures. You do not need to be a professional to get quality results. Something I learn not too long ago is that it’s not the equipment the photographer uses that makes the picture it’s how they choose to use it. I’ve seen some really amazing pictures taken with a cell phone camera. Todays lesson is going to focus on where to put your subject in the frame. Now remember, these are tips and not Rules! Sometimes steering away from tips is better for certain situations.

So since it’s Monday let’s talk about ME!!! Here’s a little something I threw together…. My wonderful hubby, Chuck and my beautiful daughter, Ella. You’ll be seeing a lot of her since she is a major DIVA and loves the camera. These were some pictures that I took on vacation this summer. I think they tell a story about who these people are and what kind of relationship they have. I just love them both so much!

Get your session absolutely FREE! But call soon cause there’s only 5 slots available for this rare opportunity! Well, it is certainly that time of year again! Halloween is approaching and soon all the little ones will be at your doorstep, clinging onto childhood, by dressing as their favorite character and collecting candy! I had the pleasure of meeting up with Peter Pan and his crew today! We took a walk in Never Never Land and shared laughs. Peter is still quite the little boy! Captain Hook caught up with us but, thankfully, Tink brought her Pixie Dust and we all were able to escape without harm! Not only was this shoot super fun but it reminded me of a time in my childhood that I never wanted to grow up! I wanted to be a kid forever, just like Peter Pan! Unfortunately, I ran out of Pixie Dust many years ago. it certainly was a pleasure to capture this special time in their lives, if only for a moment. Enjoy! ~Jenn
So, I feel pretty lucky that I had the opportunity to capture some beautiful smiles of these kids! Hailey, was a pro at this model stuff! She was striking up the poses left and right! She made the shoot so much fun! Hailey is involved in ballet tap and jazz dance classes at Erie Dance Conservatory and is in a singing group called Shades of Pink. She loves acting and has been in a few commercials and print ads with the help of her talent agency in Pittsburgh. She will soon be representing PA at the National American Miss Pageant in Hollywood, CA where she will be competing with other state title holders from all over the country! Hailey’s brothers, Max and Cameron did awesome too! How freakin’ cute are those locks! Max stole my heart right away. Those precious eyes and his super cute smile! I find that most boys don’t really enjoy getting their picture taken but Cameron did great. Max ended up winning this weeks prize and became a Child Model Magazine Finalists for 2010 Most Beautiful Baby of the Year with one of the photos from this session! The shoot was about an hour before sunset so we had some amazing light! This is one of my favorite places to go and mom did an excellent job of matching up outfits! If you noticed, the children coordinate but aren’t too matchy, matchy! LOVE IT! I have to say that I couldn’t of had amazing pictures without MOM’s help! Thanks so much! Can’t wait to work with this family again! ~jenn Just wanted to show off some of the new products we will be offering for this Holiday season! These adorable pewter ornaments are the perfect things to hang on your tree this year! Now is the time to schedule you children’ s photo session or your family photo session!
Sorry I haven’t been around for awhile but Lord knows I’ve been a busy little thing! I was in Nashville last week for work and pleasure. This was my first trip to the city of country. I have to say I had a pretty darn good time! Love the live music. It’s pretty much everywhere you turn. I did do a lot of donating to local bars on my search for live music! Hahhah! So, I just got back from Nashville yesterday and I picked up this cute little hat for Ella. YES, I had to take pictures of her in it! We decided to do a hat session. There were gonna be more hats but unfortunately the card I grabbed for my camera wasn’t exactly empty so I ended up filling it up pretty fast. Maybe we will attempt the hat session another time but I did manage to get a few pictures that I just LOVE!!! I don’t know how, but this little chicka has incredible eyes! I can’t stop photographing her. Fortunately for you, you get to watch her grow up right here! ENJOY!!!! After spending alot of time trying to decide which albums to go with for our studio I picked GP Albums. I really like the selection they have for their covers and each album is custom made. I have the Hot Pink, Purple and Croc Style on display here. I am also pretty excited about our accordian wallets. It’s the perfect gift for anyone. This is the Copper Dots cover with 10 wallet sized photos all strung together in an accordian style. Great to display on a desk or table but also very portable so you can carry around 10 of your favorite images to show off! I just love the metal covers. They come in silver or copper and there are a few different finishes to choose from. This is one a recent client ordered.
