My Little Sunshine!

Well here she is again! Ms. Ella helping out at the studio again. She told me that she was going to be a model when she grows up! Then 15mins into the shoot she decided that she was hungry and bored and was leaving to go find something else to do! Well, at least she gave me 15min!

A Little Celebration at The New Studio!

I decided to shake things up a bit and host a fun filled photoshoot soiree at my studio in Girard! We had three photographers from the Erie area as well as three local models show up.  Bethany Kibbe, who is a fantastic make up/hair artist did all of the girls makeup and hair.  It was such a fun time. Everyone involved was simply amazing. I recently bought some new equipment for my lights and wanted to test them out.  I got an octobox and a large softbox with a grid as well as 2 different grids for my hair and background lights! Most of pictures were done with one light with a grid. It just goes to show you that you don’t need alot of lights or a lot of power to make some really cool photos! A huge “Thank you ” goes out to Mike Conway, Danielle Nuhfer, and Morgan Getty for rockin’ the shoot! Amazing people to work with! Hopefully, I can get them back in the studio soon for another shoot.

A special ‘thanks’ to Colin Wadsworth and Pete Paszkowski for joining in the fun as the 2 other photographers!

They Are Only Young Once

My Little AngelThere is just something about children! The innocence, the laughter, and the joy they bring! I can’t help but smile every time I get the opportunity to capture those things in photos. I must have thousands of pictures of my daughter, Ella. It’s hard to think that some people don’t have any beautiful pictures of their children hung in their homes. I have a hard time deciding which photos to blow up!

This brings me to a story I remember a few years ago. I was with my children at a local playground with my camera of course. There was this mother there with her 4  children. Her daughter was immediately attracted to my camera. She kept trying to get in to the picture so with Mom’s permission I took her aside and started shooting! I got some amazing pictures of her innocent beauty. The pictures just spoke to me! I continued photographing her other children at Mom’s request.  She told me that she never had any pictures of her children done. Money was tight and it wasn’t a priority.  I gave Mom by info so I could get her some pictures. After I got home and loaded them up to my computer I was deeply impressed with how much energy and emotion jumped out at me! I was so excited that I sat there and edited the images burned them on a CD and delivered them to Mom a few days later! It was the least I could do for her since she let me share in her families beauty!

I am going to try to make it a point at least once a summer to find a family out there that needs some great candids of their children to display and share with all. So the next time you are at the playground and you see a girl with a camera, it just might be me!
